Project Background
Cork County Council are in the early stages of developing the Cork to Kinsale Greenway. This project, which is funded by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), aims to provide a Greenway between Cork City and Kinsale.
Arup has been appointed by Cork County Council to provide multi-disciplinary engineering and other specialist consultancy services to progress the project through the processes.
What’s Happening Now?
The Project is currently at Phase 2 Options Selection.
Public Consultation No.2 on the Proposed Options took place from 6 September – 13 October 2024. There were three in-person public consultation events where the Proposed Corridor Options were presented to the public by the project team. In the following locations.
- 17th September 2024, 14:00 – 20:00, The Viaduct, Old Bandon Road, Co.Cork. T12 ND34.
- 18th September 2024, 14:00 – 20:00 Actons Hotel, Pier Road, Dromderrig, Kinsale, Co.Cork, P17 PX80.
- 1st October 2024, 14:00 – 20:00 Actons Hotel, Pier Road, Dromderrig, Kinsale, Co.Cork, P17 PX80.
We would like to extend our thanks to you for attending and/or submitting feedback during Public Consultation No. 2 for the Cork to Kinsale Greenway Project, which took place from 17th September and 01st October 2024.
Your engagement and valuable insights are instrumental in guiding the development of this project.
We are pleased to inform you that the report for Public Consultation No. 2 is now available on the Project website. This report has been prepared to document the findings of non-statutory Public Consultation No. 2 and includes details of the public consultation process and the feedback from the public consultation.

The project team is currently in the process of identifying the Emerging Preferred Route Corridor. This option will be presented and discussed during Public Consultation No. 3 which is planned for Q2/Q3 2025. Public consultation is a crucial part of advancing the development of an appropriate solution for the project, and we continue to value the public’s input and engagement.
