Baile Bhúirne to Baile Mhic Íre Pedestrian Improvement Scheme
Cork County Council is progressing with the design of the Baile Bhúirne to Baile Mhic Íre Pedestrian Improvement Scheme.
CORK COUNTY COUNCIL IS PROGRESSING WITH THE DESIGN OF THE BAILE BHÚIRNE TO BAILE MHIC ÍRE PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENT SCHEME

- Improvements to pedestrian safety for those travelling between, and within, the villages of Baile Bhúirne and Baile Mhic Íre.
- Traffic calming measures to reduce vehicle speeds, including the introduction of periodic 30 km/h speed limits in the vicinity of Scoil Abán Naofa.
- Pedestrian crossings will be provided to improve accessibility and safety.
- ‘Safe Routes to School’ treatments will be provided in the vicinity of Scoil Abán Naofa.
Public Consultation Closed
The public consultation for the proposed Baile Bhúirne to Baile Mhic Íre Pedestrian Improvement Scheme has now concluded.
The Community Information Event was held on 11 June 2026, and the public consultation period closed on 9 July 2026.
Cork County Council would like to thank everyone who attended the information event and those who made submissions during the consultation period. All submissions received will be reviewed and considered as the design of the scheme progresses.

- Feabhsuithe ar shábháilteacht coisithe dóibh siúd a bhíonn ag taisteal idir agus laistigh de shráidbhailte Bhaile Bhuirne agus Bhaile Mhic Íre.
- Bearta maolaithe tráchta chun luasanna feithiclí a laghdú, lena n-áirítear luasteorainneacha tréimhsiúla 30 km/h a thabhairt isteach i gcóngaracht Scoil Abán Naofa.
- Cuirfear trasrian choisithe ar fáil chun inrochtaineacht agus sábháilteacht a fheabhsú.
- Cuirfear ‘Bealaí Sábháilte chun na Scoile’ ar fáil i gcomharsanacht Scoil Abán Naofa.
